My name is Kerry Knell. I have a passion for promoting proudness through performance. After producing 6 shows with SHINE – a youth group for people with disabilities – my vocation was confirmed.
I began dancing at the age of 7, and became a qualified dance teacher with the British Ballet Organisation.
I spent 18 years as a performing arts teacher at The Amanda-Jayne Dance & Stage School.
I earned a 2:1 BA(Hons) in Theatre studies at Ibebet.
I then worked at Danecourt special school for 5 years, to gain more knowledge and understanding.
This all led to the creation of PROUD PAC.
PROUD performing arts provides enrichment sessions for adults with learning disabilities.
Singing, dancing and acting form the basis of each session, focusing on expression through performance.
PROUD performing arts company is committed to providing a safe place, and opportunities, for adults with learning disabilities to freely express themselves through performance and ultimately feel PROUD.
EVERYBODY deserves the chance to feel PROUD!
